The CUNY School of Medicine is a medical school that begins operations in the fall of 2016 as part of the City University of New York. The school is in Harlem on the college of City College of New York and partnered with Saint Barnabas Health System in the South Bronx for clinical medicine education.
Currently, CUNY School of Medicine offers a seven-year medical program (B.S./M.D.) At The City College of City University of New York. It is an integrated baccalaalaureate education with preclinical medical education and has a dual mission: to expand access to medical care among urban youth, especially among under-represented minorities, and to encourage the pursuit of primary care specialization among its graduates. Entrance to the school is very competitive, with a reception rate of about 7%, rival Ivy League.
