In the medical world, a surgeon is a doctor who performs surgical operations. There are also surgeons in podiatry, dentistry and veterinary fields.

History

The first person to document surgery was the Indian surgeon-6 BC, Sushruta. He specializes in cosmetic plastic surgery and has documented open rinoplasty surgery. Magnum opusnya Su? Ruta-sa? Hit? is one of the most important ancient treatises that still survive on drugs and is considered the basic text of Ayurveda and surgery. This paper discusses all aspects of general medicine, but translator G. D. Singhal is nicknamed Su? Ruta "the father of surgical intervention" because of the very accurate and detailed surgical accounts that can be found in the job.

After the eventual decline of the Sushruta Medical School in India, operations have been largely ignored until the Golden Age surgeon Al-Zahrawi (936-1013), rebuilding surgery as an effective medical practice. He is considered the greatest medieval surgeon who emerged from the Islamic World, and has been described as the father of surgery. His greatest contribution to medicine is Kitab al-Tasrif , an encyclopedia of thirty volumes of medical practice. He was the first doctor to describe ectopic pregnancy, and the first physician to identify the hereditary nature of hÃÆ'Â|mophilia.

His pioneering contributions to the field of surgical procedures and instruments had a huge impact on surgery but it was only in the eighteenth century that surgery as a different medical discipline appeared in England.

In Europe, surgery is mostly linked to barber-surgers who also use their hair-cutting tools to perform surgical procedures, often on the battlefield as well as for their employers. With advances in medicine and physiology, the profession of barbers and surgeons is different; by the barber-a surgeon of the 19th century has almost disappeared, and surgeons are almost always qualified doctors who specialize in surgery. Surgeons continued, however, to be used as a degree for military medical officers until the late 19th century, and the Surgeon General title continued to exist for both senior military medical officers and senior government public health officials. In 1950, the Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCS) in London began offering formal status surgeons through RCS membership. The title is Mister a badge of honor, and today, in many Commonwealth countries, a qualified physician who, after at least four years of training, obtained a surgical qualification (formerly Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, but now Members of the Royal College of Surgeons or some other diploma) are given the honor of being allowed to re-call themselves Mr, Mrs, Mrs. or Mrs. in their professional practice, but this time the meaning is different. It is sometimes assumed that the title change implies the status of the consultant (and some mistakenly assume non-surgical consultants are Father as well), but the duration of postgraduate training outside North America is such that qualified surgeons may be years away from getting posts: many doctors have previously earned this qualification in a senior homework class, and remain in that class when they begin sub-specialty training. Mr. (etc) differences are also used by surgeons in the Republic of Ireland, some Australian states, Barbados, New Zealand, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and several other Commonwealth countries.

Military title

In many English-speaking countries, the title of military surgeon is applied to every medical practitioner, because of the historical evolution of the term. The US Army Medical Corps maintains various MOS surgeons' in the ranks of officers paying value for military personnel dedicated to carrying out operations on wounded soldiers.

Specialization

Some physicians who are general practitioners or specialists in the field of family medicine or emergency medicine may perform limited ranges of minor, general, or emergency operations. Anesthesia often accompanies surgery, and anesthesiologists and anesthesiologists may monitor this aspect of surgery.
