A dental assistant is one of the dental support teams that helps with dental care. They include dental assistants (known as dental nurses in England and Ireland), dental therapists, dental hygienists and dental technologists. The role of dental assistants is usually limited by regional dental regulations, which help determine the limits of treatment that can be done.

Asisten gigi
Dental assistants help make dental treatment more efficient by helping dental providers. They hold and remove instruments, pull back the tissues and apply suction to help better the vision of the field of operation. They also mix ingredients, help keep dental records, and sterilize instruments and equipment. Some are also involved in professional teeth whitening procedures, particularly in the Republic of Ireland where laser tooth whitening is classified as a cosmetic procedure and not a dental treatment. This practice usually occurs in clinics that are only devoted to laser tooth whitening and not routine dental care.

Dentist
Dental therapists are a complement of licensed teeth in several countries. They specialize in the care of children's teeth and oral hygiene. Local tooth decisions determine what therapist's task is permitted to do. Typically, therapists under a dentist's prescription are licensed to check children's teeth, manage some local anesthetic forms, take radiography, and provide sealants, scaling, and cleaning for children. They can also work in restoring primary teeth and providing vital pulp treatment such as pulpotomy.
Dental hygienist
Dental hygienists are licensed dental experts who specialize in preventive dental care and treatment of periodontal conditions (gum). National dental regulations determine the duties of trained and competent hygienists to perform. In most jurisdictions, Dental Hygienist works in dental practice (office) and is licensed to manage local anesthesia. Other responsiveness is dental radiography, fissure sealant, scaling & amp; removal of stains, teeth whitening, root treatment in cases of periodontal disease and monitoring/maintenance of therapeutic regimes.
Dental technologist
Dental technologists are dentists who make dental equipment: removable prothes including dentures and orthodontic retainers, and fixed restorative jobs such as crowns and bridges for dental operators to include.
