A medical scribe is a person, or paraprofessional, who specializes in mapping real-time doctor-patient meetings, such as during medical examinations. A ER scribe works in the hospital's emergency department (ED). Their duties may include overseeing the documentation of each patient's visit to the ER and acting as a physician's personal assistant.
