Funds for Assistance for Private Education (FAPE) is a perpetual trust fund for personal education created by E.O. 156 S. 1968 and amended by E.O. 150 S. 1994.

FAPE was made on November 5, 1968 by Executive Order no. 156, in the implementation of a project agreement between the Philippine government and the United States to establish a permanent trust fund that will address the needs of the private education sector in the country.

In the 1960s, the Coordinating Council of Private Education Associations, or COCOPEA, campaigned for the inside of the Special Education Fund, which came from a surplus fund authorized by the 1962 War Damage Act. The private education sector succeeds in convincing the Philippine government that it has a role important in the development of the nation so that it is not only appropriate but also need to be assisted financially.

The trustee of FAPE is the Private Education Support Committee (PEAC), headed by the Secretary of Education as its chairman. PEAC also consists of representatives of the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA); Philippine Catholic Education Association (CEAP); Association of Christian Schools, Colleges and Universities (ACSCU); and the Association of Colleges and Universities of the Philippines (PACU).

Over the years, Fund management has evolved to include other aid programs for the private education sector and with it the organizations that assist PEAC. Recently renamed the PEAC National Secretariat (not to be confused with trust funds), the organization, as directed by PEAC, manages and develops programs for private education and participates in initiatives affecting the sector. Currently, it manages the components of Education Service Contracts, Teacher Salary Subsidies, and Senior High School Voucher Program GASTPE Programs from the Department of Education, In-House Training Programs, and Research Programs, among others.
